Our first discussion for the BEMA Lubbock Discussion Group was a success. We had an excellent conversation about the introduction to the BEMA Podcast. If you've never heard of or listened to the BEMA Podcast then I suggest beginning with the first two episodes in Session 1 - https://www.bemadiscipleship.com/-1 and https://www.bemadiscipleship.com/0.
In these two episodes Marty Solomon and Brent Billings discuss the purpose and the origin of the BEMA Podcast. If you're looking to dig deeper (and I mean way deep) into God's word, then this is the podcast for you. I have listened to all of the current episodes and I can say that I have learned way more about God's Word than I ever anticipated learning. I love the amount of information and resources they share in each episode. One of the analogies presented in the introductory episodes is the window metaphor.
Imagine looking through one window, either into a house or outside, and that's all you see for 20 years. Now imagine that you move to a new window! Now you get to see more than you've ever seen before. As an American Christian I can relate to this. Most of us only read the New Testament and what we do read of the Old Testament can be confusing at times. Not because we don't understand what we are reading but because we are lost on so much of the context. Now imagine reading the Bible with someone that knows all of that context! It's amazing how much we miss while reading through the Bible. I hope you guys can join us next week as we discuss the first episode - Trust The Story https://www.bemadiscipleship.com/1
